Why Seagreens®?

Seagreens® products are safe and easy to include in everyday foods and drinks for all ages.

A pinch or two of Seagreens® dried milled seaweed adds comprehensive micronutrients to any meal, soup, smoothie, fruit juice or tea.

For the past 20 years we've pioneered the harvesting and production of our native wild species for human nutrition, at 5 remote locations in the British Isles and Nordic region.

A decade of independent research has studied Seagreens’ beneficial effects in weight management, digestion, iodine sufficiency, salt replacement, and the glycemic index.

We're certified Nutritious Food Seaweed and Organic so that with Seagreens®, you know what you’re eating.

Seagreens® seaweeds are free from harmful allergens, contaminants, toxins and microbial pathogens, irradiation, GMOs, and manufacturing incipients.

Food and nutrition product manufacturers also use Seagreens® ingredients, including Bart, Clearspring, Green People, Heath & Heather, Macacha, Napiers, Pukka, Raw Living, Viridian, and Waitrose.

Seagreens and most of these products too, are available in good health stores, online or by mail order

Working together - micronutrients and immunity

Click here for an up-to-date international assessment of the important role of micronutrients in immunity, all of which are in every Seagreens® product. Additional supplementation of certain nutrients is also recommended, such as Vitamin D.

"A new UK study* shows that a significant proportion of women of all ages have disturbingly low levels of intake of folate, vitamin D and A, riboflavin (B2), iron, calcium, magnesium, potassium, iodine, selenium and zinc, most below the Lower Reference Intake (the absolute bare minimum to keep standing). This is the time when our health authorities should be insisting that everyone - especially those in higher risk groups - should get tested. Not for SARS, but for the multiple micronutrient inadequacies which the British public lives with...."

Ascophyllum (Knotted Wrack) supports gastrointestinal health and digestion, is a natural prebiotic (food for beneficial gut bacteria), and with other dietetic measures contributes to weight regulation.

It is high in polyphenols, which may lower the risk of chronic diseases.

Fucus (Bladder Wrack) decreases fat absorption, is higher in antioxidants, and supports bowel and liver function.

Both species are rich in soluble iodine, which contributes to normal skin, thyroid, nervous system and cognitive function, energy-yielding metabolism, and normal growth in children.

Pelvetia (Channelled Wrack) has a particularly good ratio of Omega fatty acids.

Each seaweed contributes a unique breadth and balance of micro and other nutrients to complement and complete a normal land based diet.

Even if seafood is included, ocean minerals are the ‘missing ingredient’ including natural antibacterial and antiviral elements like germanium, gold, iodine, selenium, silver and zinc.

Each product is easy to use, can be mixed and matched, and the amount varied to suit your nutritional aims, if necessary with advice from a nutritional therapist.
